Derek has more than thirty years of experience in pharma in a variety of commercial roles spanning insight, strategic marketing, market access, digital business development, and innovation. He combines an analytical mindset with commercial acumen to facilitate success throughout the entire brand and product life cycle. Derek is fascinated by finding alternative pathways to accomplish goals, turning strategy into action, and bringing projects to fruition. His expertise is in building sustainable business capabilities that connect people, process, data, and technology.
Prior to joining DT Consulting, Derek spent fifteen years at AstraZeneca, where he led the Global Commercial Effectiveness Center of Excellence, delivering advanced analytics services to markets around the world and establishing global best practices. As executive director of the US Commercial Insight, he also led the organization through several successful transformations. Earlier in his career, Derek held a number of commercial and operational roles in DuPont’s Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Imaging businesses.
Derek received a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in biology, with honors, from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
